At Inspired Crafts, we are continually discovering new ways to make crafting a smoother, more enjoyable process.

We enjoy “Gliding” through our day!

Here are some helpful hints that we’ve picked up along the way.

PaperGlide          Cutter Glide          E-Z Tool Cleaner

     PaperGlide™

  • When using vellum, spritz PaperGlide™ into the air, and “waft” the vellum through the mist from the side.  You are virtually guaranteed a smooth, even coverage with no water droplets.

  • IMPORTANT NOTICE
Please keep the clear cap on the fine mist sprayer after use. Placing a moist cotton ball in the clear cap will ensure best sprayer performance. On rare occasions and in dry environments, the spray nozzle could dry out and become less effective.

  • If your sprayer ever becomes a bit clogged, no problem!  Simply take your bottle over to the sink and run warm water over the nozzle, which should do the trick.  If necessary, you might use a little liquid soap on a toothbrush and scrub the nozzle gently.  It should spray as good as new!  Stubborn clogs can be freed by pulling off the white plunger and putting a few drops of E-Z Tool™ Cleaner inside the cap.  Just let it sit for a few minutes.  Pour out the cleaner. Reassemble the cap and spritz away! Fine bristle brushes also work to open the misting orifice.  Use of pins or needles may damage the orifice.

If you have a clogged spray nozzle and would like a FREE replacement, please contact us.

  • PaperGlide™ is excellent to use on heavyweight and specialty cardstock for cutting, scoring and folding. Fold lines will produce clean, crisp lines.  Cutting blades glide through paper, and scissors cut like a dream, on PaperGlide™ treated specialty papers.  Be sure to try Cutter Glide™ on cutting tools for these specialty papers as well, for the best performance solution.

  • You may pre-treat any cardstock and file it away for future use in a file labeled, “Embossing Ready”.

  • PaperGlide™ has also proven to be quite helpful when using die cutting/embossing machines, such as the Wizard from Spellbinders.   Your embossed image will come out absolutely crisp!

  • Pre-treat your paper, before using your “difficult” craft punches, and feel the difference!

     CUTTER GLIDE™ TOOL TREATMENT

Most important reminder – Cutter Glide™ must be thoroughly dry after application for maximum effectiveness.  Either a heat-embossing (hot air) tool or hair dryer will speed up drying time.  Be careful to not over-heat!

  • Have a craft punch (or office hole punch) that’s “sticky” or gets “jammed”?  Apply Cutter Glide™ liberally to the entire metal surface (cutting blades and walls of the punch).  “Cycle” the punch a few times to evenly distribute the treatment.  Punch a couple of pieces of scrap paper to remove any excess, which may help to speed up drying time.  To ensure thorough drying time, we recommend letting the punch sit overnight.  This is especially helpful with the more detailed and intricately designed punches.
PLEASE NOTE:  Occasionally, we all come across a punch that is beyond redemption.  (They shall remain nameless!)  Inspired Crafts makes no claims that absolutely every punch on the market can be fully “treated” using Cutter Glide™.  We’re good, but we can’t work miracles! (Just don’t tell our Inventor!) With those "extra nasty" punches, they make great door stops, boat anchors and ornaments in potted plants!   ;>)

REALLY BIG TIP!:  For those wonderfully large, and heavier, punches, it is very helpful to push the punch through, wrap tightly a few times with rubber bands to keep it in the position where the cutting edge shows through the bottom.  Then turn it over on your work surface.  You now have both hands free to liberally apply the Cutter Glide™.  Proceed as directed above.
  • Try dipping your sewing needles in the bottle of Cutter Glide™.  Allow to dry thoroughly.  The coating on the needle effectively reduces friction and wear – feel the difference!
  • The inventor puts Cutter Glide on his shaving blades and now they last over 6 weeks!  SHHHH!  This is a secret!!!

IMPORTANT:  It is generally NOT NECESSARY to clean your craft punches before applying Cutter Glide™.  These punches are typically die cast and do not have oil on them.
  • Although E-Z Tool™ Cleaner is a powerful cleaner, there are some cutting tools with so much sticky residue build-up, that you may find it helpful to “lift” some of those sticky layers using duct tape (just stick and lift).  Also, an old toothbrush may be used to help "work" on these nasty layers of old sticky goos!.  Once the top layers are “lifted” off, it is very easy to wipe clean with E-Z Tool™ Cleaner.
  • For especially stubborn stains or residue, it is recommended to apply E-Z Tool™ Cleaner, then let sit for a minute or two, and wipe off.
  • When cleaning small blades, it may be easier to use a stamp “scrubber” or "fuzzy" paint edger to wipe them on.
